OBJECTIVE | Provide financial assistance to those students who are both deserving and needy so as to enable them to reach their fullest potential. The target is to provide scholarship to 5,000 such deserving students of Valsad district and 3,000 students of Amreli and Bhavnagar districts for education in India at schools/graduate/postgraduate level.

RATIONALE | Private schools and professional courses are out of reach for many deserving students. Vidhya will extend monetary support to those bright students who deserve it most and are deprived purely for want of funds.

PROCESS | Advertisements are given in prominent regional dailies inviting applications for scholarship and detailing eligibility. Students are then shortlisted on the basis of their credentials and their financial background. Shortlisted students are called for a personal interview along with their parents. Their financial eligibility is assessed in the interview and based on this as well as their credentials, the amount of scholarship is determined. Future academic targets are also set and mutually agreed upon to ensure that the students continue to excel in their studies. Year-on-year reviews ensure that only the bright, deserving students continue getting the scholarship.
